Tinder Users Can Now Add Videos to Their Dating Profiles, Find Matches supported Shared Interests

Tinder brought new features like videos in profiles, an Explore section, and a Hot Takes section. According to the dating platform, the new features for Tinder "lay the inspiration for a deeper, richer next-generation of Tinder." The dating platform will let users add videos to their profiles.

 Additionally, Tinder is additionally adding Hot Takes, a social experience that lets users chat with someone before matching. Lastly, the dating app is additionally adding an Explore section which will let users discover people supported by shared interests.


Commenting on the new features, Tinder CEO Jim Lanzone said that A new generation of daters is posing for more from us within the post-COVID world: more ways to point out off their authentic selves, more ways to possess fun and interact with others virtually, and more control over whom they meet on Tinder and the way they convey.


Tinder will now let users add a video to their profile additionally to the photos that users could already upload. According to the corporate, "Video gives Gen Z a replacement thanks to telling their authentic stories and represents the evolution of Tinder into a multi-dimensional experience that mirrors what dating seems like in 2021." Tinder says that Gen Z makes up quite 50 percent of its user base.


Moreover, Tinder will now let users chat with one another before the match on the dating platform with its new Hot Takes feature. The new feature also will have a timer and users will need to make their decision before it runs out. Hot Takes are going to be available a day from 6 pm to 12 am (midnight) nightly. This feature builds on Swipe Night, which first persisted on September 12, where users participated during a shared storyline.


Tinder is additionally adding a replacement Explore section which will let users discover new people supported by shared interests and passions. for instance, if users have an interest in skating or baking, they're going to be ready to discover people that have an interest in skating or baking, respectively. Tinder also announced that its Hot Takes and other in-app events are going to be integrated with the Explore section once it's launched within the coming weeks. aside from Explore which will be launched soon, the opposite new features are unrolled to users.
