In future HOMEPOD, HOMEPOD Mini; Apple speaker will support lossless audio

Apple speaker: Homepod

Apple recently announced that it would launch support for lossless audio on Apple Music next month. It also announces that this service will be available for all Apple music customers at the existing subscription level. Now, the company has shared more details about this feature.

In supporting documents, Apple has confirmed that the Homepod and Mini HomePod will get support for lossless audio with updates in the future. "Homepod and Mini home pods use AAC to ensure excellent audio quality. Support for lossless will come in the software update in the future," the company wrote on the support page.

However, the company does not clarify when it will launch this feature or if the user needs to connect two devices to get the desired effect.

In addition, the company also answers many other questions that you might have about this feature. For example, Apple said that Bluetooth connections do not support lossless audio. This means that while AirPods, air AirPods, AirPods max, and wireless beats indeed offer great sound quality, they do not display support for this feature.

The good news, however, is that you can connect your iPhone to headphones to listen to lossless audio on Apple music. "Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter is designed to send audio from the iPhone lightning connector. It contains a digital-analog converter that supports lossless audio up to 24-bit / 48 kHz," added the company.
